Six Sentence Sunday - Do You Love Enough?

OK, I've been absent all of April while I had to focus on the A to Z Blogging challenge on my other blog, but I am back with an excerpt from one of seven short stories I have committed to finishing and finding homes for!
Annael's flawless face turned towards him, tear-stained and broken. In the unplumbed depths of her eyes, he saw that she knew. Like him, she was helpless as a leaf in a waterfall. Like him, she was a victim of the magical curse; the ardesco, an obsessive compulsion to love to which any Ishafal or demon might succumb. ‘You must.’ Her voice cracked; one discordant note in a perfect symphony.
You can find more Six Sentence Sunday writers here. I'm entered in the Best Australian Blogs 2012 Competition for both Flight of the Dragon and Somebody Has To Say It. If you like this blog, or Somebody Has To Say It, I'd be eternally grateful if you'd be so good as to stop by and vote for me here.

If you enjoyed this post, please feel free to check out my previous posts if you haven't already. If you're finding yourself here often, you might like to join as a member, sign up to the blog through RSS or email, or subscribe to my newsletter.

Don't forget to share the love and spread the word on Twitter, Facebook or StumbleUpon (or other social networking site of your choice) if you know other people who might also enjoy this.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting with us!

Great Six - Wasn't A2Z as fun as it was exhausting? This is my first time back to SSS since March as well.

I know where this one is going, and it is pure heartbreak. Stunning imagery and poetic prose.

Lovely final phrase there. Very graceful prose throughout. Great six.

Thank you :-) The nature of the Ishafal is such that they naturally lend themselves to this kind of prose.

Thanks Amberr. :-) You are one of the few lucky enough to have read the entire story.

Very fun, totally exhausting. There was just no way I had enough time to devote to this blog as well at the same time.

Thanks! I have set myself a deadline of end of May to start submitting this to publications. I'm taking a leaf out of Tobias Buckell's book and starting at the top. It's much easier to work your way down than up LOL
