Six Sentence Sunday: Slang #2

Here is the continuation from last week's excerpt, demonstrating the use of invented slang. You can read the first part here.
The girl’s mouth dropped open. ‘Ya know, smeared.’ When his blank look persisted, she rolled her eyes. ‘Smeared, wiped, ghasted…’
He shook his head, not getting it.
Killed.
You can find more Six Sentence Sunday writers here.

Author's Note: 'Ghasted' is not a typographical error. However, as we use 'ghosted' to mean killed, I reasoned it was entirely possible a fantasy culture, in which undead ghasts exist, would use 'ghasted' in the same fashion we use 'ghosted'.

Oh yes... and the trick is to explain without boring the reader! Thanks :-)

Ah, I love this! I wish more people would invent slang for their fantasy worlds. It's completely reasonable (and realistic)!

Thanks!

I can tell you why - it's HARD! I swear my brain nearly imploded coming up with this. OK, maybe not... but it hurt. :-)

Love it!  I've found quite a few memorable female characters in this week's posts--it's great to lose the damsel-in-distress attitude :)  Thanks for sharing!

Nice! I like how I feel her "internal" head slap happening. ;-)

Oh I don't do damsels in distress! Can't abide them. Wait until you meet Astarl! She'd almost throw up at the very thought of having to pretend to be a damsel in distress!

That's awesome! It's always nice to know a piece of writing has worked.
