Six Sentence Sunday - Air Ship, Ghost Ship

Here's an excerpt from the short story I've just submitted to my writer's group - ahead of my self-imposed schedule I might add!
Vakar scribed a huge circle through the air, Dannin swinging wide below, his gloved hands clinging grimly to the thin hemp. The strange wizard was waiting when Dannin spun out of the mist. He seized the rope. The abrupt halt in Dannin’s momentum slammed the wizard back a few steps. Dannin’s feet scrabbled for the deck. Snatching the dragonrider's dagger from his belt two-handed, the wizard sawed jaggedly at the hemp.

  3. Welcome back to the Six Sunday fold :-) After your A-Z month I bet it's a relief not having to come up with something new to blog about every day. Looks like Dannin might be in a bit of trouble once that rope's cut.

  4.  Thanks, it's nice to be ahead. it remains to be seen what happens after I get feedback from the writer's group. THAT'S where I fall down.

  5. Thanks! I had to work hard on this story- too much story crammed into too few words left it feeling two-dimensional.
